Athabasca Falls-Whirlpool Valley Cross Country SkiingAthabasca Falls-Whirlpool Valley have fantastic cross country ski trails with beautiful views. A Jasper local favorite ski is Moab Lake Trail, which starts at the Meeting of the Waters picnic area 20 kilometres south of Jasper on highway 93A. Whirlpool Campground cross country ski trail is another great easy 4.5 kilometres, starting at the Moab Lake trailhead reached via the Athabasca Falls turnoff on the Icefield Parkway.
Cross Country Skiing on Jasper's Pyramid BenchJasper's Pyramid Bench conatins moderate cross country ski trails that begin right off Pyramid Lake Road. You can ski right from town or drive up to one of the two parking areas near Pyramid Lake. The Bench cross country ski trails include the Mina/Riley Loop - a 6 to 7km intermediate trail with gently sloping terrain or the shorter 4.7 km Pyramid Bench ski loop which offers spectacular views of Jasper's Athabasca Valley.
Ski Evelyn Creek - Cross CountryThe Evelyn Creek cross country ski loop is a 12km difficult ski trail which follows the Bald Hills fire road up to the Skyline Trail.
Cross Country Skiing at Jasper's Maligne LakeThe Maligne Lake area offers some of the best cross country skiing in Jasper National Park. Novice skiers will enjoy the Maligne Lake Ski Trail loop and the Moose Lake Ski Trail, which both offer easy cross country skiing with gentle, fun descents. Advanced cross country skiers will probably prefer the 7.3 km Lorraine Lake ski loop as a more challanging skiing option.
