Whistler Blackcomb Appoints New PR Manager

Whistler Blackcomb has announced the appointment of a new Public Relations and Communications manager. Whistler-based Christina Allsop, most recently the Director of Communications for the resort’s annual TELUS World Ski & Snowboard Festival, joined the Whistler Blackcomb team on July 12, 2004.

Allsop has extensive snowsport industry experience and has been promoting Whistler Resort for the past six years. The majority of this time has been spent working with W1, the event marketing company responsible for producing the TELUS World Ski & Snowboard Festival. As Director of Communications, she was responsible for overseeing the marketing and communications for the event and previously spent two and a half years as the event’s Public Relations Manager. Prior to working with W1, Allsop has also held public relations roles with the Fairmont Chateau Whistler, Toronto agency OverCat Communications and the Sutton Place Hotel, also in Toronto.

“We’re excited to welcome Christina to the team,” says Stuart Rempel, Vice President Sales & Marketing, Whistler Blackcomb. “Her close connection to the resort and her relationships and experience gathered through working with the Festival will be a huge asset to Whistler Blackcomb.”

“I’m very much looking forward to continuing my work with the snow industry media in my role at Whistler Blackcomb,” says Allsop. “I have enjoyed my work in Whistler to date immensely and look forward to the new challenges ahead.”
