Stiffer Penalties on Skiers

Colorado has recently put up stiffer penalties on those caught violating the Colorado Ski Safety Act of 1979, according to Nicole Formosa's article at the Vail Daily website. From the original $300, the maximum penalty was increased to $1000.

Formosa reported that the penalty covers all the violations which include going skiing or snowboarding outside the resort's boundary markers and riding on lifts or trails while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

The updated bill was sponsored by Rep. Gary Lindstrom, D-Breckenridge.
